What it does that most wardrobe templates don’t

We read 37 reviews of other wardrobe templates in Notion. People love a closet they can see in photos, a weekly outfit board they can reset in one click and a setup that’s easy. This one has all three and adds what each piece really costs you.

  • A week of outfits

Drag outfits onto the days of the week. When the week is over, Reset week clears the board for a new plan.

  • Wear today, in one click

The day goes into your outfit calendar, and every piece in the outfit counts one more wear.

  • Cost per wear

Each piece shows its price divided by how often you wore it, so you can see which buys paid off.

  • Not worn lately

Pieces you haven’t worn in 30 days, or at all, get a tab of their own. A good list to restyle, donate or sell.

We set it up from a fresh copy, the way you’ll get it: clicked Wear today and saw the day land in the calendar, reset the week, cleared the sample closet and checked our own piece stayed.

What’s inside

The main page has your week, what you wore in the last 7 days, your closet by category, all your outfits, the pieces you wear most and your wishlist. The Closet, Outfits, the Outfit calendar, Capsules and trips, the Wishlist and Closet insights each have a page of their own.

Piece pages

A photo, how many times you wore it, the cost per wear and when you last wore it, with every outfit the piece is in.

Also in the template

  • Closet insights

Your best value pieces by cost per wear and everything you bought this year with the total.

  • Past wears

Wore a piece a lot before you started? Put a rough number in and the count starts there.

  • Your own photos

A phone photo on a plain background works well. If a photo is too large, a screenshot of it always fits.

  • Sample closet

32 pieces and a month of outfits show how it looks in use. One button clears them, and another brings them back.

How to use it

  1. On Sunday, drag outfits onto the days of Your week.

  2. In the morning, click Wear today on the outfit you put on.

  3. Now and then, open Not worn lately and decide what to keep.

  4. Before you buy, add it to the Wishlist and let it wait.

Set it up in about five minutes

You do this once. It’s easiest on a computer, and photos are easiest from your phone.

  1. Buy it on Etsy and download the Start here PDF. Open the template link in it and click the Duplicate icon (two small squares) at the top. A free Notion account is enough.

  2. Open Start here and click the button to clear the sample closet, so you start empty.

  3. In Closet, click New, name the piece, drop in a photo and pick a category. Start with the ten things you wear most.

  4. In Outfits, click New, then click Items and tick the pieces that go together.

Is it right for you?

A good fit if

  • You want to see your whole closet in photos in one place.
  • You like to plan outfits for the week ahead.
  • You want to know which pieces you actually wear and what they cost per wear.
  • You’re building a capsule wardrobe or packing for a trip.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want the app to suggest outfits. You put them together yourself.
  • You want background removal for photos. Use your phone’s own tool, or shoot on a plain background.
  • You want to scan receipts or import purchases. You add each piece yourself.

Questions

Does it work on the free Notion plan?

Yes, all of it. Photos can be up to 5 MB each there, and a screenshot of a big photo always fits.

How is cost per wear worked out?

The price divided by how many times you wore the piece, counting every outfit you wore it in and any day you wore it on its own. Until you wear it, it shows the full price.

Can I add pieces from my phone?

Yes. In the Notion app, open Closet, tap New and take a photo. Most phone photos fit as they are.

Can I use my own currency?

Prices are in US dollars. For another currency, set your own number format on the three money fields and swap the $ in the Per wear formula. Start here names each field.

Do I have to add my whole closet at once?

No. Start with the ten pieces you wear most and add the rest bit by bit. Everything works with a few pieces.

Where does the template go after I pay?

You download a Start here PDF from Etsy with the template link. Open the link and click the Duplicate icon at the top of the page, and the copy is yours to keep and change.
