Now watching, a movie page with its review and your year, filmed in the real template.

What it does that most movie trackers don’t

We read 127 reviews of movie and show trackers in Notion. The words that come up most are easy and simple, and the low ratings say cluttered or overwhelming. This one keeps each step to one click and still gives you a year in numbers.

  • +1 episode

Click it after each episode and the progress bar on the card moves. No typing numbers mid binge.

  • Mark as watched

One click sets the status and today’s date. Add your stars and a few lines, and it shows up in Recently watched.

  • Your year in numbers

Everything you watched this year by type, with the count and your average rating. Past years stay in their own tab.

  • A watch challenge

20 ideas to watch something new, like a film made before 1930 or a show you once dropped. Link a title and it says Done.

We set it up from a fresh copy, the way you’ll get it: added a title, clicked +1 episode and Mark as watched, cleared the samples and checked that our own title stayed.

What’s inside

The main page has Add a title, Now watching, your watchlist, Recently watched, Your year and the challenge. All titles has a poster shelf, a table, a board by status and your favorites.

Movie pages

Also in the template

  • Your own posters

Add any image as a poster. A photo of your ticket or a drawing works too.

  • Rewatches

Count how many times you’ve seen a favorite, and tick Favorite to keep it on its own tab.

  • Where to watch

Streaming, cinema, TV, rental or library. Rename them to the places you use.

  • Sample titles

Classic films and three made-up shows show how it works. One button on Start here clears them.

Is it right for you?

A good fit if

  • You want one place for what you’ve watched, what you’re watching and what’s next.
  • You watch series and lose track of which episode you’re on.
  • You like rating films and writing a few lines about them.
  • You watch anime or K-dramas alongside movies.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want posters and details filled in for you. You add the title and, if you like, a poster image.
  • You want to share ratings with friends in an app. This is your own private log, which you can share as a page.
  • You want a reading log too. Our Book Tracker is made for that.

Questions

Does it work on the free Notion plan?

Yes, all of it. Posters can be up to 5 MB each there, and most images are far smaller.

Can I use half stars?

Yes. Rate from 0.5 to 5, and the stars show a half star where you need one.

What happens in January?

Your year starts fresh with the new year. Past years keeps every year you logged, newest first.

Can I track anime and K-dramas?

Yes. Pick Anime or K-drama as the type and use New series for the episode count and +1 episode. The watchlist has a tab for each.

Where does the template go after I pay?

You download a Start here PDF from Etsy with the template link. Open the link and click the Duplicate icon at the top of the page, and the copy is yours to keep and change.
