Last month at a glance, the six numbers you log, channels and top pages, then notes and the monthly report, filmed in the real template.
It’s made by a digital marketer who has worked in analytics and ads for 16 years. Before building it, we looked at the GA4 templates on Notion, Etsy and Gumroad. Most are a table to fill in. None compares one month with the last or tells you where a number lives in GA4.
Users and key events for last month next to the month before, with an up or down arrow and the percentage.
Set a key events goal, like sales or bookings, and each site shows Goal met, Close or Below goal.
A guide page names the GA4 report behind every number, with tips on key events, users and channels.
You copy six numbers per site from GA4 once a month. No login, no connector and no access to your property.
We set it up from a fresh copy, the way you’ll get it: cleared the samples, added a site with its goals, logged two months with + Log month and checked Goal and both change columns by hand.
The main page shows Last month, the Monthly log, Traffic sources, Top pages and Annotations, with a monthly report and a GA4 guide below. Each site also opens to its own page.
URL, account, users goal and key events goal, with Goal, Users change and Key events change right under the name.
One row per site per month with Users, New users, Sessions, Engaged sessions, Key events and Revenue. Engagement rate, key event rate and revenue per user work themselves out.
Sessions and key events for each channel last month, from organic search to email and AI assistants, with the key event rate.
The pages that matter with their views and key events, each marked Keep, Improve or Watch, and a note on what to do next.
A site change, a campaign, a tracking change, a search update or a few days closed, with the date, the site and whether the numbers went up or down.
A filled-in example for Harbor & Pine: a summary, last month against the month before, where the traffic came from and notes on pages. Duplicate it for each site or client.
Type any channel name. The samples use these.
The report behind each number, plus small tips, like typing 1m 14s of engagement time as 74.
One row per site or GA4 property, and Account keeps each client’s sites together.
A made-up home goods shop and a yoga studio with six months of numbers. One button clears them, another brings them back.
Six short steps in your copy, each with a picture of where to click.
A few days after the month ends, open GA4 and set the date range to last month.
Click + Log month for each site and copy the six numbers.
Read Goal and both change columns in Last month.
Something changed on the site? Click + Annotation.
You do this once. It’s easiest on a computer, with GA4 open next to it.
Buy it on Etsy and download the Start here PDF. Open the template link in it and click the Duplicate icon (two small squares) at the top. A free Notion account is enough.
Open Start here and click Clear sample data. Anything you add yourself stays, and you can bring the samples back.
Open Sites and add one row per website with its Users goal and Key events goal.
On the main page, click + Log month. Pick the month and the site, then copy the numbers from GA4.
Read Users change, Key events change and Goal in Last month.
When something happens that can move your numbers, click + Annotation.
A site without sales? Leave Revenue empty. Everything else works.
No. Once a month you copy six numbers per site, which takes about ten minutes. There’s no login and no access to give.
Yes, all of it.
GA4 counts each user once in a date range. Add up four weekly numbers and someone who came every week counts four times. A row per month keeps users right.
It divides last month’s key events by your key events goal. 100% or more is Goal met, 85% or more is Close, and anything lower is Below goal. With no key events goal, it uses your users goal.
Yes. Add one row per site or GA4 property and give each an Account. Each client can get a copy of the Monthly report page.
No. We made it on our own, and Google doesn’t endorse it. Google Analytics is a trademark of Google LLC.
You download a Start here PDF from Etsy with the template link. Open the link and click the Duplicate icon at the top of the page, and the copy is yours to keep and change.
Email us at hello@magnetcreativestudio.com with the template name and what you see, and we’ll help you get it working.
